Never Giving Up on Your Dreams

Pushing Through Challenges and Embracing the Power of Persistence




There have been so many times that I have felt like running away or giving up on my heart’s desires. Yet, there is this thing within me that doesn’t let me. This I call the spirit of perseverance and tenacity which are key ingredients to help me overcome problems and keep believing in myself and others.


Perseverance is key to achieving your goals. As the famous author, J.K. Rowling once said, "It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default." This quote reminds us that failure is a natural part of this human experience… is part of the journey to successful living. Remembering this fact has helped me and many successful people keep going forward even when faced with challenges.


Another influential figure, Thomas Edison, famously said, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." This quote highlights the importance of resilience and the fact that setbacks are just stepping stones towards progress. I always have encouraged my children and my clients not to be so hard on the so-called mistakes… as when we look at mistakes from a learning perspective they can be one of the ways to learn not to do something specially when you are going after your dreams.  


And you ask what can I do?  


Set Clear Goals and Create a Plan

You see, setting goals is a good strategy to persevere and stay tenacious in pursuing your dreams, it is essential to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve. Because having clear goals and creating a plan is just like saying you are taking a trip from NYC to a specific address in Upstate NY with the GPS. Having an address is the goal, having the GPS is the plan as it will guide you step by step to get to your final destination. Without it you will be lost. Is the same as saying; I have goals, yet I don’t have any plans on how to get them. My suggestion is to take time to set specific, measurable goals and develop a plan to reach them. Break down your goals into smaller, manageable tasks to make them more achievable and track your progress along the way.


Stay Positive and Inspired

I personally dislike the word “motivation” because motivation wears off. It relies on “something happening” in order for you to stay motivated, yet when you stay inspired, you are drawing from your inner strength, your inner knowing that is your silent partner who maintains you with a positive attitude and outlook at whatever is happening at the moment. It is crucial to align yourself with your inner power especially when you are faced with challenges. Also make sure you surround yourself with a community of uplifting and supportive people who believe in your dreams and encourage you to keep going. Practice gratitude and mindfulness to help you stay focused and present.



Learn from Failure and Adjust

Failure is only failure because of your outlook about it, which makes it look like the end of the road, yet once you shift your perspective about it, you can actually use it as an opportunity to learn and grow from it. 

In this moment, choose to see failure or mistakes as stepping stones to improve and adjust your approach. Embrace change and be flexible in your strategies, knowing that it is all part of the journey towards a well-lived life.


By incorporating these practical applications into your daily life, you can cultivate perseverance and tenacity that will help you overcome obstacles and continue to pursue your dreams and a joyful life. Remember, the road is not to lead you to success, yet it is to take you in a direction to have different adventures along the way, in which you get to experience life that flows with ease and grace into what we call success. Whatever success looks like for you. As You are not Your Mind you are so much more … you are here to let the spirit within you have a blissful human experience!
